
Facebook hired a number of technology partners and analysts this week, based on job listings removed from its Careers page. The company also appeared to hire a principal of global small business growth in Hyderabad and a client partner in Singapore.
As we covered earlier today, Facebook also hired Acyrlic founder Dustin MacDonald for its design team.

Facebook added a number of interesting new job listings to its recently redesigned careers page this week, including a natural language processing engineer and a privacy program manager, among others.
The natural language processing engineer job calls for a candidate to help the social network build products that support idiomatic user input and expression in more than 70 languages, for products such as Open Graph, News Feed and search.
The privacy program manager listing says the candidate will work with product managers and privacy stakeholders to consider the appropriate privacy decisions for each product.

Topping our list of emerging applications by monthly active users this week was Custom Tab | Arrow #3, a page tab application builder from Woobox. The rest of our list was made up mostly of games, though sports social reader GiveMeFootball and social networking app Path

Facebook stock again below $ 30 - Amid concerns that Facebook will report lackluster Q2 earnings, the company’s stock closed at $ 28.76 today. Not even news that Facebook will begin testing search-based ads could bring the share price above $ 30 where it closed last week. The stock is down more than 6 percent this week and more than 24 percent since Facebook’s initial public offering in May. The company’s earnings call is scheduled for Thursday.
Nasdaq to revise IPO compensation proposal – Nasdaq is expected next week to release a compensation plan for investors who were affected by technical issues during Facebook’s stock market debut. Fox sources say the deal will be all in cash, and likely above the $ 40 million originally proposed. Nasdaq is continuing to work with the Securities and Exchange Commission on a second draft of the proposal, after its initial plan was met with criticism from investors, who may have lost a combined $ 200 million or more from the IPO.
Washington state to allow voter registration via Facebook – Washington’s secretary of state’s office said Tuesday it will offer an application on its Facebook page that allows residents to register to vote and then share the story with friends. The app, which is the first of its kind, is expected to launch as early as next week.
Facebook falls in consumer satisfaction – Facebook, already the lowest-scoring e-business company, experienced an even further decline in customer satisfaction, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index. An E-Business Report released in partnership with customer experience analytics firm ForeSee showed Facebook dropped 8 percent to 61 on a 100-point scale, setting a new record-low score for e-business and placing it among the five lowest-scoring companies of the 230 measured by the ACSI. Google+ scored 78 in its first appearance in the ACSI.
Zuckerberg and team looking to foster relationship with Walmart – Facebook’s senior management team, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg, are scheduled to spend two days at Wal-Mart Stores Inc’s headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, meeting with executives and discussing ways to “deepen” the company’s relationship, according to Reuters. Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg have already shared photos from their visit, which began today.

Zynga teams up with Wildlife Conservation Society — Zynga.org announced it is partnering with the Wildlife Conservation Society. The company is offering exclusive starter packs for Bubble Safari players, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the WCS.
Mark Pincus doesn’t plan to change Zynga’s operating strategy — Zynga Founder and CEO Mark Pincus sat down to chat with GamesIndustry.biz. When asked about whether or not recent stockholder reactions would affect the company’s business strategy, he said,”It’s OK to be a little misunderstood; but what’s not OK is to change your strategy or your execution because you’re worried about what your industry or investors are going to think of you in the short term.”
Marvel: Avengers Alliance getting new characters — Disney Playdom’s Marvel: Avengers Alliance is getting an upgrade in the form of new playable characters. The new characters are from on the current Avengers vs. X-Men storyline and include Emma Frost, Rogue, Beast, Quicksilver, Gambit, Havok, Tigra and Valkyrie.
Tencent may bring some Chinese games to Western markets — Speaking at last week’s GamesBeat conference, Tencent Senior Executive Vice President David Wallerstein said the company is building up its Western presence, but still isn’t sure about importing games from China in order to do so: “We thought about it. We’ve looked at certain titles internally, and it’s been really tough. For us to bring a game over, it has to be the right game.”
Pangalore announces Knightly Adventure — Developer Pangalore announced it’s working on Knightly Adventure, a cross-platform social RPG. The game is scheduled to launch on mobile devices and Facebook sometime in August.

Zynga appoints Ellen Siminoff to board of directors — Ellen Siminoff, a founding executive at Yahoo and CEO of Shmoop University, Inc., joined Zynga’s board of directors this week. Siminoff is the first woman to join the company’s board and will also join the company’s audit committee.
