3D Slots slips past Dirty Dancing to claim the top spot on our list of emerging Facebook games. Even so, we expect the cult-movie-turned-social game to class out of this ranking as of next week if it continues its current growth rate.
We may also be bidding goodbye to City Wars and War Commander next week as both games appear to be on track toward breaking the 1 million monthly active user mark. Keep in mind that we use this figure as our cut-off point between “emerging” and “established” Facebook games because most titles that break this total continue on a growth track for a sustained period of time. However, as ESPN Sports Bar & Grill demonstrates at No.10 this week, a game may well return to this list after leaving it should MAU fluctuate around 1 million.
Quick note on FIFA 12: This app was not functional at time of press, so we could not verify its classification as a social game. It may be a community fan app for EA’s newly-released installment in its popular soccer video game series.

The Pokerist Club and Bubble Witch Saga slip past The Sims Social on this week’s list of fastest-growing Facebook games by daily active users.
Farther down the list, we see newcomer Heroes of Neverwinter gaining ground weeks after the game’s official launch on the platform. The hardcore adventure role-playing nature of the game is more demanding that traditional Facebook games, so it’ll be interesting to see how large the game manages to grow on the strength of its niche appeal.

Dirty Dancing tops this week’s life of emerging Facebook games as Bubble Atlantis exits by breaking the 1 million monthly active user mark. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader looks to be the next game to graduate from this ranking at No.2 while Italian sports sim fantacalcioville rounds out the top three.
Farther down the list, we see two Bible-themed games picking up speed. Journey of Moses had a bit of a head start on Noah’s Ark, but both games build on established social game genres like treasure hunting and farming while making light use of religious themes. Time will tell if these games successfully tap the under-served evangelical audience in the social games market.

MindJolt’s new standalone game, Bubble Atlantis, top our list of emerging Facebook games this week with Social Game Universe’s Dirty Dancing and Peak Games’ Trendkiz rounding out the top three.
MindJolt is in the middle of executing a mobile strategy that relies on creating a critical mass of users from a mix of web and Facebook games. This is similar to what RealNetwork’s GameHouse is attempting with its series of casual and arcade titles on the platform. The idea is that because the mobile market is so fragmented, it’s far easier to get a new game going if you have a platform of games in a centralized location from which to evangelize new releases.

At No.6 this week is newcomer Dirty Dancing, a Facebook game based on the 1987 romance film of the same name from Toronto-based developer Social Game Universe and entertainment company Lionsgate. Expect a full review from us later this week.
