Topping our list of emerging applications by monthly active users this week was Custom Tab | Arrow #3, a page tab application builder from Woobox. The rest of our list was made up mostly of games, though sports social reader GiveMeFootball and social networking app Path

We define emerging applications as those that ended with between 100,000 and 1 million MAU in the past week. This week’s top apps grew from between 120,000 and 390,000 MAU, based on AppData, our data tracking service covering traffic growth for apps on Facebook.

No. 2 was Disney’s Ghosts of Mistwood, which reached 500,000 MAU this week. Zynga’s The Ville is just short of the milestone, coming in at No. 3. Zynga’s Ruby Blast came in at No. 14.

No. 4 was GifBoom, an app for iPhone and Android allows users to create animated gifs and share them on the social network. No. 6 Via.Me is another mobile app, this one allows users to share both photos and videos.

No. 8 Crazy Penguin Wars is a multiplayer shooter game for the Facebook canvas. No. 9 GiveMeFootball is a social reader app for Football news. No. 18 UFC.TV App is a website integration for the UFC, which uses Facebook login but not Open Graph, as it doesn’t appear to share user activity to Timeline.

Yahoo! Toolbar is a browser extension for Internet Explorer and Firefox that gives users quick access to email, weather, stock reports and Facebook. The Facebook integration brings in a user’s News Feed, profile and notifications.

No. 2 How Hipster Are You? is a quiz app that includes a series of questions to determine a user’s “hipster” percentage. The app has grown incredibly quickly from users posting their results to Timeline and friends seeing the activity in News Feed.

Smule is a mobile developer that seems to have a number of music apps under the same Facebook app ID.

Three promotional tab applications made the list: No. 4 SimCity Social: Get free stuff, No. 9 Embassy Suites 366 Days of More Sweepstakes and No. 15 Dove Men+Care – Dadism Sweeps.

Other top emerging apps included a number of customizable tab builder applications from Woobox and Thunderpenny.

IGG’s Chinese-language role-playing game ????-??3D????,????,????,???????,??????! (“Titan war – the first 3D large-scale online games, new engine, epic masterpiece, super stunning visual feelings, to visit all the ancient civilizations!”) took the No. 1 spot on our list of emerging Facebook games with 20,000 new monthly active users for a 50 percent gain.

Spanish-language pet sim ¿Qué piensas acerca de mí? (“What do you think about me?”) debuted this week and secured the No. 2 spot with 20,000 MAU. The tie-in for Syfy’s popular show Being Human appears on the list at No. 3 for the third week in a row, up by 10,000 MAU for a 13 percent gain. Playdemand’s Jewel Story appears in the No. 4 position with 10,000 MAU for a 50 percent increase. Royal Social Group’s Royal Poker Palace rounds out the top five games on the list with 10,000 MAU, a 17 percent gain.

Two other games had gains greater than 100 percent. Hokm’s eponymous card game Hokm was up by 10,000 MAU for a 100 percent increase, while Runaway’s butterfly sim Flutter was also up by 10,000 MAU for a 100 percent growth.

Due to a classification error on our AppData traffic-tracking service, Playdemand’s Diner Life didn’t appear on our emerging games list during the past few weeks. The error was corrected this week, but Diner Life managed to gain enough users that it moved past 100,000 MAU and off our list. If traffic continues to improve, it will likely start appearing on our list of fastest-growing Facebook games by MAU.

Turkish Backgammon game Tabla Plus took the top spot on our list of emerging Facebook games, up by 50,000 monthly active users for a 125 percent gain.

Once again, Being Human snagged the No. 2 position on our list with 30,000 MAU, a 75 percent gain. Justin Stocks’s Egg Breaker took the No. 3 position with 30,000 MAU, a 100 percent increase. Mini Putt Park — which debuted in May — was up by 20,000 MAU for a 67 percent growth. Gladiators Software’s AquaLife 3D rounds out the top five emerging games this week with 20,000 MAU, gaining 29 percent.

Three other titles had gains over 100 percent. Idle Media’s Backyard Buddies was up by 12,000 MAU, a 150 percent surge. uCool’s Sunny Town took in 10,000 MAU for a 100 percent gain. SGN’s Childs Play WordSearch was also up by 10,000 MAU for a 100 percent increase.

Meme sharing site Lol Turtle + saw a big spike in users since launching its Facebook integration that allows visitors to share funny or inspirational images on their Timelines. It came in at No. 2.

No. 3 on our list, Tumblr, is approaching 1 million monthly active Facebook-connected users since its big gain this week. No. 10 House M.D.: Critical Cases is also expected to pass 1 million users this weekend. Career resource site Glassdoor seems to have made a push to get users to connect with Facebook, as it’s up nearly 50 percent this week.

Games, quizzes, photo-sharing and welcome tab apps rounded out the list.
